Review Of MSI gaming gs63

1. Design

With brushed metal on the lid and keyboard deck and aluminum heat fins on the bottom cover that assists regulate temperatures, the MSI Gaming GS63 has a stylish design that looks excellent in all-black. This laptop feels lighter while closed (4.1 pounds) or open, thanks to the bezel around the display’s slim design (only 0.5 inches thick on either side) (16 x 11 inches).

Most users will find the 15-inch display’s default resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels to be bright, vivid, and sharp enough; however, professionals who frequently use their laptops for picture or video editing may prefer a higher resolution. The IPS panel is simply the best option in this price range.

2. Display

The 15.6-inch display offers an anti-glare coating and an FHD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels for comfortable viewing. If you wish to invest extra money in your laptop, you may also choose a 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) option. The 15-inch screen is still lovely and bright, with excellent color reproduction and viewing angles.

3. Battery power

On average, expect a battery life of about four hours, which could be more spectacular compared to other laptops in its class. Still, MSI’s steadfast refusal to improve its laptop batteries is at least somewhat to blame. In any event, I was playing video games while unplugged is not advised. This, therefore, only applies to non-gaming circumstances.

4. Connectivity

There are two USB Type-C ports, two USB 3.1 Gen2 connectors, one HDMI port, and one Thunderbolt 3 port. In addition to supporting DisplayPort connectivity, the Thunderbolt 3 port can deliver up to 65W of power while simultaneously recharging your laptop.

5. Memory (RAM) Performance

The MSI Gaming GS63 has a typical memory of 16 GB on one of its two RAM slots. It uses DDR4 RAM. Additionally, the laptop can support up to 32 GB of memory. As a result, you can increase the default memory to 32 GB. Undoubtedly, such an upgrade will improve the laptop’s performance. However, the laptop’s usual 16 GB of memory is sufficient to run most high-end games smoothly. Additionally, the laptop’s ability to multitask will be flawless with standard memory. The MSI Gaming GS63 should be able to operate 40 Chrome tabs at once without experiencing any slowdown.

To further confirm the laptop’s performance, I will now provide the results of a PCMark 8 test. The PCMark 8 test, in short, is designed to assess a computer’s overall performance when doing productivity tasks like web browsing. As would be assumed, a high test score denotes proficiency. Thus, according to the results, the MSI Gaming GS63 earned 3999 points in the benchmark test.

6. Trackpad and keyboard

For such a compact laptop, the keyboard has decent travel, and the trackpad is usable if you don’t mind giving up two USB ports for the additional space it takes on the right edge of the palm rest.

7. Security

Additionally, the power button has a fingerprint sensor built into it so you can access the Windows 10 Home Edition operating system without using passwords or pins each time you want to access your data.
